Much has been said in this e-zine about the wet season (April to December) and how moist and mildewy everything is. But, as we enter the new year, dry season arrives!
This issue of “We´re in Panama!” is all about the changes that come with these short – but sweet – three months. Download it here, free as usual.
Visit “We´re in Panama!”´s facebook page and read back issues here.
We´re enjoying a public holiday here as Panamá´s Independence from Spain (1821) is celebrated, so I´m just stopping by to leave you a spread from my sketchbook. Some of these doodles will probably be used in an upcoming project.
Have a wonderful week!
Yesterday, while going through my freshly arrived copy of Uppercase Magazine, I had a (happy-)shock: my work is featured there!
I´m so happy!
If you haven´t yet, go buy yourself (or someone you love) a subscription to Uppercase. Every issue is filled with inspiration from many countries in the world. I specially like the fact that it focus mainly on small scale entrepreneurs in creative fields, people who decided to follow their own path.
That makes me even happier to be featured there, specially knowing that working on your own as a freelance artist is sometimes very hard.
Thank you, Uppercase!
My sketchbook for Sketchbook Project 2012 arrived some time ago. My theme, this year, is “Travel with me”. I found it very appropriate, because I feel that living in Panama I´m travelling all the time: travelling within the city or in the countryside, travelling here or abroad, life here feels like a constant discovery.
So far, I´m having a lot of fun with my sketchbook and I already took it somewhere. Can you guess which city it is?
While this sketchbook is still in the making (flickr set here), you can go ahead and peruse last year´s entry. Have fun!
Yay! I just received a notification from the guys at Art House Co-op letting me know that my sketchbook for Sketchbook Project 2011 has been digitized and added to the gallery. You can now see the full sketchbook with their great quality images right here.
In the meantime, my sketchbook for 2012 has already arrived and I am looking forward to having time (and mental space) to work on it. This is such a thrilling project that I´m going to have to say “yay!” again.
Last week we visited my cousin in New York, the city where everything seems possible. I didn´t have time for much drawing but I managed to sketch a scene or two while waiting.
I love New York City and always want to go back. Just not when it´s cold, please.

I was commissioned to make a series of drawings of a building in Casco Viejo. I´m thrilled!
The other day these little creatures invaded my artboard while I was researching for a logo for a new school. The logo turned out totally different, but the invasors were sweet and certainly are welcome to occupy my space. Again.
Outra vez.
I´ve always had this thing for trees * Sempre tive um fraquinho por árvores!
